anyone done this before?

i am in the middle of making a patch loom to adapt my 1g 4g61t loom(pretty much the same as vr4) to a evo style plug so i can use a e3 ecu with my setup.
anyone tried this?
anyone want comment?
anyone want to help me match up wires between ecus and pinouts? good fun trust me!:w00t:
simon

ok just thought there will be the WTF questions. so basically i have a e3 engine setup running in a awd cyborg with the 4g61t loom, ecu, sensors and stuff which are pretty much the same anyway, use a greddy emanage to help compensate, but want the benifits of the e3 ecu.

well basically i dont have to pay for any of it cause i have it already. the e3 ecu is rewritable and 4g61t isnt. i am also running not far from stock e3 motor anyway so base maps will be much closer in timing and stuff than what i have now. and should be much less dyno time in the end, if any tuning time needed at all.
plus i like trying different stuff.

Why not get a VR4 ECU and chip that? Plugs straight in. I'm sure meek could write you a chip with EVO maps for a VR4 chip

vr4 eprom ecu's arent that easy to come by these days, and like i said i have all the gear already. and didnt have to pay for this stuff so yeah thought i would try it.

i did this on my lunch time :p not finished thou, but should get you started...
if you have 1g ecu socket and 2g ecu plugs you could do this in few hours time.

love doing things the hard way, just get that satisfaction for some reason.

GSR once again ledgend. i am probably more throught it than that, but hit a few issues. got more info today so will see how i go.

haha no prob, if you give up and end up using vr4 rs ecu i can burn you a chip with evo maps, diff injectors, maf and other various sht.

cheers dude, i do have a vr4 rs ecu, but it got nasty fryed and a mate is trying to get it sorted for me. but i dont think it will happen. i got a e3 ecu and got the wiring pig tails that were cut out of another ecu at work. i had a couple of old dead ecu's at home so ripped out the female plug setup from that. have started soldering them together, but is taking some time, maybe 3 hours so far i think, and not to far off.

yes i have been using that a bit, but dont have colours, besides the 2g oone on that site is for a dsm not evo.

i found a evo loom at work that will help me out.

i ran the car last thursday fine with no errors at all! i couldnt beleave it. i only idled it so will see. have to get my stupid laptop to connect to the emanage to rip out the injector compensation and will see how it really goes.

hahahaha wasnt sure if you would see this or not. i have to fix the back end of the car first! and get the rear ratios sorted, but im sure would be interested in seeing how it is with that gea box in anyway, will see you for sure.

well, finally got the laptop talking to the emanage properly, got the emanage sorted with setup again, plugged in patch loom, plug in e3 ecu, and fired up first time sweet!! no error codes at all! very happy indeed!!
have to get off my ass and get the diff center out now to swap my ratios, think ill be coming to see you mike to get the preloads reset!
