first of all i have to say this is probably the best and most informative site to do with "4g's" ive been able to find, and ive been looking for a while haha.
ok so im picking up my first lancer gsr ever on the 25th of next month and im really stoked :) minds already racing with what to do to it.
its an auto, 94 and has done 160000ks. completely standard, real tidy and black. i know theres enough topics on what to start with when modding GSR's but is it exactly the same for an auto one? evo ecu
evo afm
evo fuel pump
evo injectors
evo intercooler
exhaust
and im pretty sure i'd go with the td05 off a vr4 from what i hear? apologies if you find this all very tedious and repetative :)

i'll have all of the items required to make a 4g93 run on evo gear except injectors (these may come available depending on how fuel thirsty my new beast is to make 200kw atw) and turbo

to get the most out of a td05 will recomend a 16g you will want all the items you listed plus the evo ecu. if you ever decide on the 2l swap dont even bother trying to change the loom just do the wire extensions automatic looms are rare as hens teeth (i know i spent 2 months trying to find one! for just a gsr engine)

16g really? i mean far be it for me to question a moderator for the site of the engine im modifying... but if people talk about some lag chucking them on a 93/manual, surely it would be a bigger problem on an auto? i naturally assumed for me to have any chance of having the response i wanted while still having some go on the open road it'd have to be the compromise of the 14b?

oh you have some of the parts i need? if only i wasnt across the ditch... or is it not that much of a hassle getting parts sent over?

HEAPS of parts on Trademe mate. Have you had a look on there?
Being auto, I would stick with the smaller turbo too, especially if response is what your after.

yeah im on holiday atm so look on there afew times a day haha and just cant seem to find some things like evo ecu or a td05 14b

ive got a evo 3 AFM coming in the next few days so thats one thing off the list

with the bigger injectors it's not so bad comes onto boost around 2.5 3k being an auto you can peg that throttle and keep your boost as it rattles up the gears. making for one quick car. the best compromise wound be a 14b rear with 16g compressor (i'm one of those guy that spoke of lag on a 93T) when i was complaining i only had the 390's and gsr afm and ecu. but now with full evo bolt one it's reasonably responsive make more power and can rattle off a 13.6 quarter

Stay with the smaller turbo....but get the ecu you currently have fitted with ecmlite. Have tuner take a look and sort the lag if any

F-All difference between the 14B and 16G lag wise they have the same TD05H turbine wheel - just in slightly smaller housing for the 14B. The compressor wheel make very little difference here. Personally I'm not a fan of the 14B compressor wheel, old tech and too small even for a 1.8 - but with the Auto I'd stick with the TD04 as mentioned above, there are some options when it comes to hybridising the TD04 for a bit more poke if the rest of the mods I list below don't do it for ya.

2.5" exhaust (No bigger on the TD04!)
Front mount i/c, nothing too big. Good old VR-4 items work a treat with the inlet/outlets enlarged to 2.5"
Boost up to 14psi
Transmission oil cooler upgrade if funds permit.
Evo 1-3 rear swaybar upgrade.
of course, shocks/springs/wheels/tyres

Don't waste time with an Evo fuel pump unless it's from something reasonably newish. The rest are likely to have done a million kms and will probably be pretty tired. Walbros can be had fairly cheap these days, and there are a lot more choices out there too.

this statement rings true i have looked at oe replacement pumps and the same part number is listed for 1.8 cc lancer coupe non turbo, cc lnacer gsr sedan turbo and evo 1-3. the pump is rated to 160lph

* GSR / Evo 1 fuel pump capacity = 80 l/h
* Evo 2/3 fuel pump capacity = 100 l/h
* Evo 4 fuel pump capacity = 120 l/h
* Evo 5/6 fuel pump capacity = 150 l/h
* Evo 7/8 fuel pump capacity = 180 l/h
* Evo 9 fuel pump capacity = 220 l/h

Where did you get this info from? The capacities are stated a few posts above and yours is way off that.

parts catalogue when looking for bits asked out of curiosity. my lph is probably off and maybe (more likely evo 2/3 have higher lph but i know the cc coupe gsr and atlest one evo share a part number.

remember this is aftermarket OE replacement not genuine Mitsubishi which will undoubtedly list different part numbers for all 3 even though they may likely be the same part and cross compatible
