Hey guys , I've finally paid off my loan so I now own the car outright. As my motor is blown I have been looking up a couple things about redbuilding the motor. I was either going to forge it or install a 2.3 litre or 2.2 litre.
If anyone knows any places that can do it , or could give me some handy information about it would be helpful.
thanks heaps guys

Allow AT LEAST $7K, mine was about $8K and that was building it myself. Throw labor ontop of that and it'll certainly add up.

I paid 5.5k including the head. That was drop the car off and pick it back up when it was done.

Don't be fooled - you can get it done for a reasonable price

price will depend on alot of factors.

how far u want to take the build
ie

align hone
torque plate bore / hone
grinding crank
nitrading
balancing
maching the block for clearance
squirters mod
balance shaft removal
arp mains / head studs

sooooo many variables

just make sure you get it done properly so you dont waste your money and have to do it again.

mates rates? cos that is fucken cheap as!!!

most shops charge R&R $1000!!!

Stroker kit is about $4k from crower
Then you got machining which is about $800
Then you got belts (gates racing ones) $500
Then you got gasket kit $450
ARP Studs $250
Cometic Head gasket $150

add all that up and your looking at almost 5k alone without other charges!!!

That crower stroker kit - is that with a billet crank, or using a 4G64 crank?

You could knock a fair whack off that price if it's the former.

thanks for that guys
ive been reading abit about the actual kit , fairly interesting stuff.
im just in the middle off trying to add up the parts etc that im also after.
but i think i might go to AFAS to get this all done.
