hey guys just got 2 quick q's to ask..
firstly installed the arp studs in the block and went to slip the head on and whalla, it doesnt slide over the head studs? wtf
whats wrong their?
i bought the 6 vr4 ones but im suspecting i have a 7 bolt head yet the port sizes are the same as vr4..
or is that only the evo 7 bolts have the smaller head ports and the jap import ggsrs just had smaller head bolts?

also my knock sensor on the block i have, there just a piece of metal sticking out, does a female piece go over the top of it or has the wire+plug that used to be on there got ripped out in the process?

cheers Matt

is the head level when your putting it on? It is very easy to put it on at an angle due to the size, i have that issue with my torque plate.

yerp pretty sure becuse it slipped in about 3 mm then got stuck. its still stuck lolz.
havent tried to get it out yet as ive been busy since but its on their but itspretty stuck not sure how because i hardly pushed it..

VR4's use 12mm headstuds and EVO's use 11mm headstuds. I dont know what you're using but make it fit! Some people with EVO's use VR4 headstuds and enlarge the hole size to fit them as the bigger studs are stronger and help keep the head down that little bit better.

The only same size ports are the exhaust ports for a VR4/EVO head, the intake ports on the VR4 are large regtangular shaped.

The knock sensor should have a gel-type centre and a long insulated wire coming out of it with a 2 pin plug to plug into your loom.

arghh cheers, yer got the head to fit just one of the holes had a burr in it.
also my knock sensor does have the gel but the wire was pulled out just some insulation..
whats a knock sensor to replace?
cheers

You can get one cheaper if you get it from the US

True, the world has become such a small place due to the internet hasn't it?
Obviously you have to factor in delivery times with US purchases though so if you need it urgently, prob better idea to get it locally. If not, then yeah, checkout EBAY US. :)

I just looked up extremepsi and with shipping it works out to approx $134AU shipped. Last time I ordered something on a Saturday night our time I had it by Thursday morning from them. Bear in mind that they would not have been able to ship it till Monday night our time!

i have an even better story. ordered acl race bearing and a gasket kit from america, 2 different sellers.
thursday night i bought it through paypal, i recieved it monday morning..
the good thing is that customs work on weekends soi they process all the stuff.
i was amazed
