I wouldnt mind checking out a few of your RVR's in the QLD/NSW area...

Anyone keen for a 2011 cruise one Sunday around 12ish anywhere from the Gold Coast to Sunsine Coast?

Lars

Sunday 30 Jan around 12 could work. Hopefully my car will be back on the road. I'm keen.

The RVR crew hasn't done the rounds in a while.

Usually we've headed for dinner / a spot to stand around and talk.

First meet we did that I went to was Nando's @ Kedron/Chermside
Second meet, Pizza Capers @ Wellington Point
Third meet - ?

We've done mini-meets in there as well, a few of us heading to the beach and what not for the day. Most of us know each other pretty well. But if you want a hand organising it, let me know.

Beach would be good, or even a run through the mountains?

A cruise down to Byron Bay through the old windy Pacific Highway would be unreal!!
Start at Surfers or Coolangatta, then you head down to Kinscliff, through Casurina and you follow the beach road that takes you through the old Pacific Hwy through Moo Town (i think) and into Byron Bay. Chill out there for the day and head back as you please? Might be too far for some though?

How about i leave it your capable hands Matt? I just thought id plant the seed.

Big drives can be expensive and also really time consuming. Having tried to organise many of these, and having actually made some of them happy, a close locale position is always best.

If we want to BBQ, a central park with good parking is always a bonus (speedbumps aren't a problem for us either)
Setting a date and sticking to it is best
Keeping it simple
And a "not cruise" can be a good idea as not everyone wants to go through windy roads, most of us just like to sit around, talk cars and catch up over a some food.

That said, I'm not keen to take full control as I've got a fair bit on my plate right now, I'm happy to help but I can't do it all unfortunately.

If you want to organise it and make it happen, I'll help and make it easier if you like, not that it's too hard.

Most of us are up here, so I'd suggest Brisbane, however depending on dates and when my car's ready, I'd be happy to roll down to the GC

I reckon somewhere easy to access with BBQ's is probably the go, somewhere central, but not too close to the city that parking is an issue.

some of the mountains have nice parking and nice bbq areas.

I'm a fan of Mt Nebo, though depends on what people want to do.
