215/45/17

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

i've got 205's on mine and get scrubbage so i think 215 will defs scrub but with the rear tab mod should be fine

Im running 215/45/17 with no troubles. Ive done the mod to the rear tab and rolling on coilovers

i have 215/35/18 on front of jummy with king lows lowered another 35mm and they rub only on bumps with 2up. would be fine if the king lows wernt lowered any extra. i think the jummy gaurds are the same as gsr. my rims are wrx offset at +35 i think or maybe +55. not sure. but i still have inner gaurds tho

I run that size on my evo 2 , but the rears scrub , the fronts are fine

I like the wider look better , but its probly best to run 205 / 40's

I just took my 215/45/17 KU367's off my ENKEI Tarmacs. Was scrubbing the rears 40mm above the side skiirt.

Im now running Advan AD08 215/40/17 on 17" P1's no scrubbing now. and also now 12mm lower than before.

215/40/17s are perfect size for GSR's for non scrubbage.
UNLESS you have saggy inner plastics like I do

Is anyone running this tyre size on there car?
i'm thinking of getting some 2nd hand slicks of track work.
Thanks Grant.

When running slicks you also need to factor in the extra load that is applied to other parts of the car and the potential for oil starvation to the engine if you don't have a baffled sump.

I have run three different rim/tire sizes on my Evo 3.
1. The OEM OZ with 205 60 R15 Bridgestones. They were a bit baggy but the extra width was nice. I think 195's would have probably suited the rim width better
2. 205 50 R16 Bridgestone RE55 on OZ rims with +40 offset. They did rub at the rear so I had to set the rear ride-height so they cleared and then play around with the front height so the car was balanced. I also could have had the mounting surface of the rims shaved down a mm or two to get the fitment perfect but I didn't want to lose the ability to rotate the tires if needed.
3. 215 45 R17 Yokahama AO50 on Enkei Tarmacs + 45 (?). Again the rears were very close. The space I recieved with the less agressive wheel offset I again lost with the wider tire. The ride-height did come down to a better level though IMO.

I guess it comes down to the whole wheel-and-tire package not just the size of the tires.
