mufflers??? what are they lol i just got a full 2.5inch exhaust with cat down to twin pipes :D sounds good
haha

thats what mine pretty much will be

3" off the dump, high flow cat
twin 2.5" pipes at the end

My gsr is 3" from the dump pipe back with a hiflow cat and a drift brand muffler from autobarn. Didn't choose the muffler was just put on there. Got defected about 6 months ago as exhaust registered 97db. The silencer with some modifications made it 89db though, just under legal limit.

my vr4 has a 3" redback cat, a 3" diameter x 18" long redback resonator and a 3" offset muffler. Not at all loud, no droning and has not gotten any worse in the last 16 months.

I only got caught as i got done speeding by one of the guys from the state traffic task force down geebung area. He looked at the car and knew what it was straight away, even without badges and stuff on it i was quite impressed. Not impressed when he pulled out the dB meter though. Was funny though got done right infront of all my tradies and bosses as i was doing poletop/switcboard/crp training at home base. :D

anyone can dob you into the EPA in Melbourne, even a little old lady walking down the street can take down your plates and make you get your car tested. I got done in Frankston a few times.

I can tell you now TRR mufflers are extremely good..if u buy one of theyre top end mufflers especialy.
I have a 10' by 7' inch stainless oval muffler with a 5 inch outlet tip on it.

They are stainless packed..not shitty fibreglass that burns and blows though after 3 months..and they are completely straight thru true 3 inch with a proper perforated baffle that continues throught the tip..its super quiet,on and off boost...I took it off one day to see if it was a restriction..absolutely no better performance wise, and the cars sounded attrocious,it really is a muffler that works....as in it doesnt hinder performance but will slash the noise heaps.
It was a little on the expensive side though...get what u pay for though.
Ask 87Vr4..his Stainless Magnaflow Barks like a pitbull beat with a stick, cool but if u drive it daily,it may get too you.
And then youve got people with no muffler, thats fine if its only small pipe,But u go three inch,it will cause a fukin lot off noise.
