3G lifter

I did a oil change with the promar stuff and did the indicated process(add to oil take for a drive) and have not heard tick tick from them in two years. I get a slight noise on startup when the oil is getting old but thats it.
 
So that promar stuff, you did it once and its been good for 2 years?
I though you had ot do it every oil change. Mine are pretty quiet just want to know for the future.
 
I replaced mine and it accentuated the VSR in my cylinder head. I thought the head gasket had gone because the engine had overheated, and I replaced it :)(), but it was VSR. (Found this out thanks to brisvr4!!:wub:)
At least the 1G ones hid the problem! :p
I think the 3G ones were only slightly longer (max 0.45mm) when primed up.
I ended up chucking some modified 1G ones back in on that particular cylinder to allow the car to run, until I can source a new cylinder head...:thumbsdown:

Haha, nah just kidding, they're great. :)
Way better than that diesel noise that 1G ones make.

Yeah same.
I used Proma MBL8 in my car (a few times) and it didn't change a thing. A bit disappointing after reading all the hype about it.
 
I've used the Promar MBL8 once, (approx 4 months ago) and my GSR hasn't made any lifter noise since. You have to follow the nstructions to the letter though, and not overdose.

I did that too.
Did an "engine flush" and then pre-mixed the measured dose with 1L of oil and then poured. It in with the rest of the oil.
Meh, the engine is rooted anyway lol.

Magnatec Trav, so 10W - 40.

EDIT: Hang on, maybe I bought a rip off version? I used Proma MBL8, but everyone else is saying Promar. Same stuff?? :S
