4 to 5 stud adapter

Im having trouble finding a decent set of 4 stud wheels for my car and one of my friends said why dont i get the 5 stud adapter. Ive done abit of research and most people say the are safe to use. But i was hoping someone on here could tell me if they are, I wouldnt mind upgrading to bigger brakes and 5 stud conversion but that wont be for a long time if it happens, also would anyone know if they are legal? id assume they are not. any info or feedback is much appriacted.

Just get some FTO or EVO4/5/6 frotn hubs and press them in the front knuckles, then get some EVO4/5/6 rear hubs and press them in your rear arms, no need to change the brakes

Adapters are a crap idea. They are around 15mm wide, and you will have very limited choice of wheels once again.
Just do the conversion.

You could use the spacers but you would sacrefice offset. I though bolt ons were just crap until I saw the HKS ct230r at WTAC 2011 with them and thought maybe they arnt that bad them if they use them on that.

Cheapest way to do the 5 stud conversion, 4cylnder Magna TR RS front hubs, and redrill the rear ones to suit 5/114. I also did a 3000gt brake conversion at the same time so not sure if the brakes all bolt back up in the right location thats something you would have to think about. I ended up changing it to evo 4 hubs and control arms and had the evo 4 hubs pressed into the evo 3 trailing arms and changed to brembos. Little bit more expesive and harder to source.

Im not 100% sure if spacers are legal or not you woudl have to check as I think there are limits to widening the track of the car.

spacers are illegal in every state of australia, whether its 5mm to 15mm, they can crack and seperate under high stress (seen it happen and my friend ended up in hospitial as they broke when he was doin 100 in a mountain pass. you can get plenty of 4 stud if you are after rims that arnt to flashy, but if your doing a brake upgrade goto 5 stud man.
