Hey guys

im trying to find out if any parts from the 4G63 can fit into the 4G93 SOHC 1.8l?

Its just that i can find alot more parts for those engines than the 4G93 and ive looked at stuff like connecting rods and in some cases they seem to be really close and i mean only difference on one set was 1mm differene and that was in the pin diameter.

Any help in this subject would be a great help.

Cheers
Marc.

ahh ok, well my above statement is wrong, i unfortunatly reas the wrong measurements.

well i just thought id ask, the worst you could say is no.

Cheers.

The Mazda B6 or BP rods will fit with some small mods, I don't know any more than that, but if you keep digging you will find out. They are a much stronger rod.

Try RPW for upgrade parts (the prices will kill the fun though)
I would suggest that you transplant the 4G63 even a non turbo motor will be much better bang for buck than trying to play with a 4G93.

Yeah Ford TX3 turbo rods can be used in 4G93's with only slight modification  Other than that ARGO make forged rods for 4G93's :)

As much as they have products that nearly everyone doesnt have, they also like to exploit that with their over the top prices, ive spoken to a couple of people who have dealt with Dave, some say yeah ok, some just roll their eyes have a lil giggle the say "yeah, what about RPW?"

Well mate unfortunatly i dont have that as an option, and atm the 4G93 is alot better starting point than the 4G15 SOHC aka, Boat Anchor.

Cheers for the advice tho guys, ill have a look around at those TX3 rods but if it requires mods im not sure.

Thanks again :)

Hmm just went and checked it out, im surprised it hasnt sold, but still thats out of a CC isnt it (gearbox on drivers side) i have a CE which is the other way round which would mean turbo against the firewall and intake manifold next to the raditor

Import a CE 1.8 GSR turbo engine from New Zealand. Some of the engine importers can bring them in for you if you ask nicely :) I remember my brother telling me that he saw a CE GSR Turbo engine at SSS Automotive a while back - or even try a half cut

Haha guys while i do appreciate the input and ideas on the GSR engine ill just do it this way, so far the plan is drop in the 1.8l N/A drive around on it for a lil bit, then get the T28 put on and just run stock internals. I know many of you would be cringing and saying "why bother" but my budget is going down at the same rate my other halfs plans for buying a house are going up, gee what a coincidence.

I scored the 4G93 with 120,000 klms on it, runs well no issues in the past with regular service history, comes with manual gearbox, loom and ECU for $400. Because its taking up valuable space in his garage. :)

I have the same problem with my Hyundai X3. (didn't stop me from installing the 4G63 though).
I am spewing now because I have found a cheap 4G63 that suits the late models.
I have also been offered Ralliart Colt crate engines at a fantastic price.

This is an old photo (I have the car running now and will be fitting the turbo engine one day)
