Iv recently had a full driveline over haul and have solid mounted the engine,
Had the car back together and it ran fine for about 50-70ks of driving and then all of a sudden
It started sounding like a huss subie (yuk) any ideas on what could be wrong?

Iv already done new coil pack and igniter because at first i thought i was getting bad/weak spark to
Cylinders 3 and 4 but now that seems to have come right, started it up and no change.
I after trying all sorts of combinations with the leads i did get it to sound like it was running on all 4 cylinders again
But then it quickly went back to sounding like a subie.

Iv had 1 new spark plug in cylinder 4 but that made no change.

Any other ideas?

Try 4 new plugs and switch your injectors around and see if the miss follows an injector. Or just pull an injector plug one at a time and see if it idles worse or stays the same

This is the first test, so you can find which Cly it the problem.

Hopefully ya havent dropped a cylinder, ya should comp test it too, just to be sure it isnt the head gasket or piston rings

Maybe its a blown h/g, between the 2 cylinder walls, if it is then its officially h/g season, That'll be you, taz an my bro in law just done his s14 too!

Ian91: no i didn't move the original injectors to see if the miss would follow, i figured i would just put a whole new set in to eliminate the possibility of it being the injectors.. i suppose it could be the wiring to the injectors maybe?

Ill compression test it tonight

You can buy an injector test lamp, alternatively put a test light across the pins and see if it's pulsing. Digital meter won't be quick enough, hence the light.

Well i have good news and bad news, i found the problem.. tis the season for head gaskets. Compression test is from cylinder 1-4 on a cold motor 120, 120, 60, 60

I've got mine to do also. Leaking coolant. Cylinder 3.
