Turns out my engine prob was cause from head being stuffed the new head has 1.6l printed on it but it's a twin cam sonata head is it gonna work or cause me problems down the track?wouldn't the 1.6l mean it's off a 1.6l not a 2ltr ?

So will it work and not cause me any problems? The engine place that has it said it's from a 20ltr sonata but on the head it had 1.6l does that mean its from at 1.6ltr?

So I can't use it huh? the guy is just trying to get money cause it has been sitting there for a year from a previous customer that didn't pay their bill

it will work, but its not the right head.

there is also a "small" and "big" port version of the 1.6L head, hyndak ones are surposed to be the "big" port version, same as a VR4 head.

you will need to swap cams between the heads and then using it will bump your compression ratio up a bit. which isnt necessarily a bad thing.

as above it has smaller combustion chambers so the comp will go up a bit - you will need to get them (or do it yourself) to calculate your comp ratio which will depend on the current pistons and headgasket width that you have now

How can I tell it's the big port head ....is there a way to make it just like my vr4 head?

1st question: the ports will be the same size as a VR4 head.

2nd question: i will say no, the combustion chamber is a different size, you *could* get it modified to the same cc volume as a VR4 head, but it really isnt worth doing a cheap job.

keep looking, thats my advise.

surely your old head could be fixed>?
