4g63 Sigma progress

hey people, thought i would put a pic up on progress on my 4g63 sigma, received my inlet manifold from J.M fabrications in the states and got my exhaust manifold made, just playing with oil and coolant lines and trying to source a aluminum radiator

Blanked throttlebody plate?

Also, Alloy rad if your'e going custom so far, you may as well just pickup any given alloy rad off ebay and fab up the brackets. Sigma's have a fairly large rad area anyway so shouldn't much matter what it's off. Hoses can be made to order too so no biggie there.

Just a thought too... that turbine housing will be able to get to like 700 + degrees. You might want to thermal wrap the dump and put a turbo sock on the turbine half. Either that or budget for repainting your bonnet once a week

Blank throttle body cause jm fab only had us throttle body options so told them to leave it blank so I can run a el falcon one, sigma's actually don't run a large radiator size at all, only 500mm core width so yeah, I'll find something... As for heat wrap, i think it looks dodgy.. manifold, dump pipe and screamer pipe are off getting coated and I have a turbo blanket for it...

Hey mate who made your exhaust manifold and how much if you don't mind me asking?

Apparently Gen2 will bolt up, the ones with the turbo positioned in the middle of the manifold, not at the back...

Currently doing a twincam conversion on the 2L stroker in my GH Sigma with a 35r.


Edit: By gen 2 i mean gen 2 dsm from the states.

The guys at racers choice made the ex manifold... Done an awesome job, they use a merge collector, it cost me $1200 that included some work to my dump pipe to make it line up for the new turbo position.. The inlet manifold is the race version and only cost me about $700 AUD landed to my door, pretty stoaked I got both manifolds done for about 2k and are both top quality items...

looks great well done, im doing the same conversion on my GE sigma, i have all the drive line (VR4/W58/9") so the next 6 months will be fabricating everything to fit. Once all done will be driving it with the stock 4G63/TD05 then start working out the suspension.

good stuff mate, should be plenty of fun! and reliable. Have not updated any progress, Done a bit since my last post. Running a 6cyl LJ torana aly rad, great fit just made up some mounts. Running some 890cc injectors, oil filter relocation kit with an inline oil cooler. Would be done by now just decided to throw some cams in before it gets tuned so i got some BC 280's from the states and some HKS cam gears. Really impressed how good the cam gears look so i had to buy a clear upper timing belt cover . realised i needed a rwd water pump so i bolted that on and pretty much just waiting for gearbox to be rebuilt.

what did you use for a rwd water pump,I put a vr4 motor in my 1962 MGB about 10yr ago but had a lot of trouble finding a water pump then. so i had to use the original and modify the old feed pipe.after that i just got slack and left it.But im doing a restoration now so i want to fix up everything dodgy. i think from memory i tried a starion waterpump but the timing tensiuner fouls on it and ther wasnt enough alloy to remove for clearence

I know Mark Boxel from GTPumps.com.au makes a water pump housing specifically for dohc 4G63T conversions into Starions, its cnc machined to clear issue's of fire wall and other obstacles so maybe worth giving him a ring about one!

I'm using a starion water pump, really didn't take much modification. Just trial and error with a hand file, fouls on the tensioner pivoting arm
