Try Liverpool Exhausts in Sydney mate. They have a website with their contact details on it. They usually stock or can get hold of laser cut flanges :wink:
 
most flanges are mild steel, and you weld the stainless on it.

due to cost reasons... i had a similar issue with my turbo flanges...
 
just get some good material and get one laser cut dre.

cost a mate of mine $70 to get a six cylinder one cut a while back.

then you know the material is high quality. because as baz said most
are just mild steel
 
i have spare mild steel ones in the back yard...... dunno if i'm goin to use it yet though...

think i paid $60-70 each..... i forget where from though ....

looks sexy but dont like S/S....... steampipe mani might be the go....
 
There's more important things other than bling :lol: as you have to think longevity and practicality as well. Show me what that bling SS manifold looks like after a few weeks/months of driving [not so bling] :lol: But more importantly all those long pipes would cause more stress to the welds due to the weight at the end of them (think of basic leverage principals with a weight at the end of a long pipe). You'd want to make sure it was well supported :wink:
 
I didnt do it for bling... but i must say it does look blinging :lol:

Once its all braced up correctly it should be fine, but i will allow mehcanic to assess the manifold and ill take it from there.

That was just dummy fitted on and im sure after a few passes it will still be ok.....If there lag i always have two bottles of go go gas to give her the barrocca bounce it needs but the two step should work fine

For a street car, HPC mild is the way to go. Tubular manifolds are shit at containing heat (compared with stock cast ones anyway), and higher underbonnet temps kills shit quick.

Dre, if it's not urgent, I'll update you when my mate's arrives and I've seen it in person / gotten better pics. That'll at least give you an idea if there'll be any hassles getting it in from overseas :D
 
Just heard from my mate that these are mild, not stainless after all .. they just look like it after the CNC process. The guy who makes them said that stainless isn't great for head-flanges, because it's much more likely to warp than mild, with heat etc.

I would have thought that stainless would be the go for a stainless manny!

I know its all about flow, and these flanges sure do look like they would angle the exhaust gasses into the runners better than the stock type flanges you get (like the ones JayRome posted).

I might talk to the person who is building my exhaust manny and see what they say

Theoretically it should smooth the flow into the runners .. in practice I'd say the advantages are probably unnoticable, but that's just my uninformed opinion.

My mate's ended up being $50 USD for the flange and $35USD for delivery.
