Does anybody have any links to some quality head gaskets for the 4g93t, just crash's using the search, how hard is it do them on these cheers heaps....

Go to your Mitsubishi dealer and order P/N: MD330500. Triple layer steel. Actually for a 4G92 MIVEC, but works a treat on the 4G93 turbo.

Digging this up from the grave Jarred, but can you remember what thickness it is?
Meek say that stock Mitsu 93T HG is 0.8 (composite graphite) and the MLS CM5A HG is 0.5, but on the CD5A that particular gasket hits the valves because of the clearance. However, I pulled down my STD engine that has the 4 holes in the block and I had that 0.5mm MLS gasket with no worries and/or valve marks on the pistons.
The Blown Composite Graphite HG I just pulled off my forgie was 1.5mm and I have access to 1.5mm, 1.8mm and 2.0mm MLS from various sources. RPW reckon they can get 0.8MLS but Meek say they can not?

My forged engine has the machined out valve notches out of the piston so I doubt that the 0.5MM MLS will have a problem!

OH... I have 3SGTE ARP Head Studs on their way from the US for a good price!
Ill boost this fucker up good and proper!

Hey, do you mind me asking who you orderered your head studs through and how much you paid? cheers, also I ordered my 4g93p gasket set from a site jackofall recommended... it was kerzan I think, an nz company :) it came with a multi layer hg

Dude, you should know your valve to piston clearance.
Dummy your engine up with your compressed headgasket, and a light spring on your valves. At tdc push your valve in until it touches piston and read distance (with dial indicator or vernier even).
Rotate engine 2* and remeasure. Repeat till you are past maximum viable lift or at valve bind for your springs.
If all your deck heights are the same then 1 cylinder will be enough.
From your cam charts you can extrapolate your valve lifts, and overlay the figures onto the piston position chart.
With these figures you can easily see what effect a thinner gasket would have and even see how far you can safely move a cam before running too close.

^^ Really all I wanted to know off Jarred was the thickness of that HG that he mentioned earlier ^^
I've put together quite a few of these engines now in my travels, and I have seen and heard so many different things about clearances and head gaskets and I havnt yet had any valves touch because of clearance issues.. Ive used both 1.5mm and 0.5mm HG's with no issues.
Id be happy and feel safe if I found a MLS HG in 0.8mm anyway..
The head is off getting skimmed, pressure and crack tested and apart from the forged bottom end, the head is stock standard with nothing special in it.

I have some links which I will post up later....Tired and bed time.

Cheers!
