Hey guys,

going over my books, i found an entry from back in September...

"360 degree anti-clockwise turn of throttle return spring load screw"

this is from when i just got my head swapped and was running the big cams without the tune... in an uneducated effort to bring the idle down (it was idling at like 1700rpm) i unscrewed the throttle body return spring by that much...

it did work.. but my question now is...

would this have had an adverse effect on tuning, throttle response, TPS calibration or anything else in that respect???
I mean i got the idle down from 1700 to 1100 doing it... so it must have done something... but i had not realised i didnt return it to normal before my tunings...

lol i am trying to find horses :(

but this a legitimate question!

cheers fellas

Has it had its tune-up?If so all is good, any reputable tuner would have made any adjustments there if needed..if not mention to your tuner what you have done and why and he will sort it out.Did you fit your own cams?Get your cams dialled in while your at it.quite often that will unlock a few ponnies.Good luck with your project

Try removing your throttle cable get a syringe fill with grease and grease throttle cable had the same issue and it wasnt the spring it was stiff cable, its better than new now and always has fully closed throttle. and has a lot lighter pedal responce

well the timing is f**ked now so i gotta get my cams dialled in again and then when that is sorted, ill investigate...

Just Engine Managment gonna do it for me, hopefully, after explaining all this shi7 thats gone wrong and what has been done and where im hoping to head, he knows wtf to do...

i'll see if they can diagnose any issues with the car, perhaps there is something amiss elsewhere...

cheers

all the tb's i've got have a little dab of white paint or some sort of locking agent on the return spring stop.is that set from factory and not meant to be adjusted?
