G'day all.

After ny keyway key go again it spun the debre around the end of the crank shaft and busted pretty much everything. I've got a new gear and harmonic balancer and new thicker keyway. When I go fitting the gear with or without the woodruff key, the gear is very hard to push on. I'm stuck between taking the sand paper to the crank end of a file to the gear to get a better fit. Should these be an interference fit or just slide on and off?

Okay, well I'm just going to file down all the damage for now and replace. Hopefully it last long enough

i spun the balancer. and destroey the keyway/woodruff key groove. i replaced the crank and block and don't have any issue similar to what i had. (initially the main bolt wouldn't stay tight (first warning) the it half spun a balancer crank looked ok replaced key and balancer. next was spun balancer completely and my own fault it was so bad driving to sydney and back on a bad one. even if it wasn't so bad i would have replaced as it'll be a comon issue from then on out.

my advice grab a crank balancer and lower gear out of a sohc (they're a dime a dozen) and fit into your 93t. you will have a much much beter peice of mind knowing it wont die in 5k km's

also don't force the gear it's SOFT SUPER SOFT

the keyway should be a very very tight almost interference fit with the crank timing gear and balancer should slide over snugly

Yep. Basically if the keyway in the crank is sloppy, the gear will fret and chew the key and spin.
You have to stop the fretting. Loctite will work, but i would still be on lookout for another crank and bits.
you can hear them rattle before they spit the key. Generally clack clack at idle.
