4G93T ECU - 98 Octane fuel

Gday all.

Just wondering, whats the best ECU chip u can get that recalibrates your engine to run on 98 octane fuel? Im looking for the type that plugs into the factory ECU; im not interested in tuning anything else.

they factory ecu is tuned for 92ron i think... so to increase it to 98ron would make the car run better and more efficent.

oh.. i have a sticker on my fuel door though which says 98+ octane only.. unless the previous owner put it there

GSR's are tuned to run on 95 octane with a knock sensor to use 92 in an emergency... retuning the engine to suit 98 only would give more power I imagine..

so going by this theory the knock sensor will recalibrate the timing and 98 RON can be used without a chip to increase power...

Why in the hell would u play with the ecu when all you are doing is putting in 98octane fuel in there!!!!!

I say leave it otherwise get ready to re build!
