Hey guys,

My mate recently bought a cyborg of Dennis (illuszn) and now he wants to put my spare 4g93 into it.

Does anyone know what he needs to put the engine in...?

its heaps more fucking around than a VR4 4G63T. custom mounts etc
 
yeah gsr lol.

well the reason we want to take the hard route is because i have the engine there spare doing nothing..

and the car is going to be off the road now.. so we thought why not...

ad also he does not have money to buy the vr4 4g63t..
 
its all in the gearbox ;)

4G93/EVO I-III are north south mounted on the gearbox.

vote +11tybillion for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay not worth it.

cost heaps more to get a 4G93 in than selling the 4G93 and buying a VR4 engine.

quick list of things that need changing, if its a semi stock "cyborg"

passenger engine mount, $200
evo/gsr gearbox, $900
evo gsr transfer case, $200
mods to north/south crossmember, $300
cluth and flywheel, $700
starter motor, $100
wiring differences/ecu loom, $500
rear diff, $$$


very, very, very rough prices, total guesses, mainly guessed on experience. i generally use this rule, take a rough estimate, double it, then at 10% and you generally end up close. there are so many factors not even considered in that list too. i could be possible to do it for a few hundred dollars if you can get bits for cheap.

biggest problem will be because you have to change gearboxes, that also means either the gearboxes front diff needs to be changed or the rear diff does too.

soooooooo, free/cheap 4G93 equals lots more money that VR4.

and you wind up with a shitter stock engine.
 
is it fwd or 4wd...if its fwd you could use the mounts, gbox and cross member out of a early cc lancer (still cb shape) that came out with 4g92. would make things a lot easier if you can source them parts cheap.

i dont know.. just i have the engine and box here and it seems like its a waste.. would be good to try and at least put it into something..
 
like GSR said, you should be able to get a crossmember from cc liftback model and make it work. but do keep in mind, wiring is a different gen so might run into some problemos there. but all can be done. just depends on how much you can do, and how deep your wallet is.
 
1989 Mirage 4dr sedan.

Hey i live in auckland, NZ. I just sold my old 4g61 c73a 4wd sedan for a new one running 2.2l vr4 motor, 20g turbo. i think its a gsr gear box and rear diff. doing first service this weekend.

Its aparently got vr4 head and evo3 cams. would evo 3 rs intake plunem bolt up to the vr4 head?
