Hello everyone, I just won a 4g93t engine on eBay which I will be rebuilding and swapping into my gsr so it's only off the road for the swap not the rebuild and everything else and I just have a few questions, I am only going to be rebuilding it back to stock and the only mods it will have are: td05 14b, insight motorsports bcu, ported inlet manifold w/ magna tb, evo 2 intercooler + piping, remote oil filter and cooler and then for the exhaust it will have a 2.5 inch dump
Pipe and 3 inch dump back, later on it will have injectors and fuel pump and fuel reg

My questions are:

For the rebuild what parts will I need and where do I get them? I will pull everything off and replace all seals and bearings, water pump timing belt kit etc and have the head machined.

Second question what sort of psi will a fresh stock motor take safely with these mods?
Is it worth rebuilding it to stock or better to upgrade pistons and rods etc while it's apart ( car is only a daily as I'm buying a r32 thats setup for drift )

Third question what is the best and easiest way to get the motor out? Through the top with or without the gearbox or through the bottom?

Forth question what is required to fit my old 4g93t to my cc glxi sedan?, it already has the 1.8l Sohc ecu motor

Thanks

theres rebuild kits available from both auto barn and super cheap. i think mine was worht around $900 without pistons and 1500 with

with standard pistons and rods it won't withstand any
more than 16psi so if you want more than that then you will need forged gear...

Easiest way to remove motor is out through the top with gearbox still attached..You will need to remove transfer case, driveshafts etc first and remove radiator and anything else to give you more room. If you don't have a fitting for crane to change the angle of the lift you will need a short chain on passenger side and a longer one on drivers side to give you the correct angle to get the gearbox out from under the chassis rail...The adjustable fitting for the crane is best but cause you can wind it one way or another while its lifting instead of stuffing around trying to get chain length right which may take a few attempts.....Should be able to get one motor out and the other back in quite easily in a day..providing you have the right tools and nothing stuffs you up.

there lots of combos out there mate
i run
arais pistons
par rods

check my members ride out

or other combos like cp pistons and spool rods

If you are going to put the engine from the car in a CC sedan what is wrong with it?

If there is nothing wrong with it why are you rebuilding another engine?

Wouldn't you be better off buying a nice normal daily and selling the lancers and investing your funds in your race car?

The reason I bought a new motor was because mine is a bit tired and needs a freshen up but it's my daily so I can't have it off the road fOr long so I bought this motor cheap off eBay with 180k km apparently which is a lot lower than mine, i have decided I will just pull it apart and change bearings and seals and timing kit and water pump and just put it in and cruise on 14 ish psi, the old motor is still running reasonably well but it has a few leaks and such that I'm a bit worried about, however it is still running well enough for me to swap into the glxi and sell as a project if it's not to much of a hassle to do, disregard my comments about the r32 as I went to inspect it today and the bastard sold it -_-

So that is my story haha

Noe I have bought an engine crane and stand and have just pulled the flywheel off the new motor, how do I get this

Thanks everyone

some very long bolt the same thread as the ones that hold the gear box on.

those arms that stick on on the stand are adjustableadjust so that they lin up with 4 of the gearbox bolt holes and bolt it on
