Hi guys, I've owned this Gsr for many years now.

This car came from NT, was sold to a guy in Melbourne, then I bought this car from Melbourne, drove it to Qld, it lived there for a couple of years but now resides in Perth.

Wonder if anyone in Melbourne remembers it? Probably not... It was driven every other weekend there too... thats why i bought it... very little mods and low low kays... Had the 17's on it and the other key thing with it was the phone aerial located in he middle top section of the back window..

Gets driven every other weekend only.

Most of the work (mod wise) has been done myself.

I stayed with the 1.8ltr when it was rebuild time, its now forged.

Heres a couple of pics..

and with 14's for the drags

Welcome mate, glad to see you stuck it out with the 1.8.

Car looks great! What have you done to the engine and in general the overall set up?

Resprayed in 2000

Engine

Forged Rods

Custom Forged Pistons (8.0:1 Compression Ratio)

Steel Shim Head Gasket

GT2560-4
GT2871R-15 Garrett Turbo (460 HP)
GT3071
Now GT3076 Custom

Remote Oil Filter

Exhaust Manifold (Standard) and Custom dump are ceramic coated. (Remote Oil Filter and subsequent custom dump gave me an extra 5mph at the drags!)

Standard Cams, Standard throttle body.

Water to Air Intercooler

510 injectors, then 850cc with E85, now back to 98

Walbro Intank Fuel Pump

Bosch External Fuel Pump with surge system

Exceedy cushioned ceramic clutch

Evo 3 Gearbox with Mechanical LSD front and rear, GSR Transfer case, Evo 3 Rear Mechanical LSD... love the 4wd skids!! installing the lsd's totally changed the driving dynamics of this car... Yes.. you should change yours.. car now is set up to over steer on the street!

Konis all round, Camber kit up front, both strut tower braces, suspension set up to provide a little oversteer

Brakes are standard in construction, upgraded pads and fluid only

Best ET: 11.85sec @ 117.6 mph and 1.86 60 ft.. 31.03.2010 (on 98 Pump Fuel)

Ha looks like my car.. awesome. So clean.

Few red gsr's popping up lately (this, richo etc) :D

Poor Dan, we were RED brothers once... then you went multi-coloured for a few years.. i still remember :)

Made 310hp ATW at only 25psi and 6500rpm from memory.. dyno tune had problems, quite a few problems... urgh...

This turbo pulls to 8500 (well is a far as i have pushed it..... comp map can go higher for my boost)

I need a new intercooler core... core leaks boost above 25psi :(
and maybe a new ecu... im running the factory 1.8ltr gsr ecu thats been chipped and hacked... so I can change the parameters to suit my mods as needed and log..

Saving for a new "decent" core (water to air), then re tune! and see what happens..

If you havent guessed by now.. must look reasonably stock.. engine bay is very average.. so much to do... to tidy it up.. but i will probably keep things "black" and stealthish..

Copper Tube was used to measure pressure in my exhaust manifold to compare against boost in intake manifold for efficiency...

Oh, here is the link for my PB on video..

Yes my PB was achieved two turbos ago...

Oh also added drive-line mods above that I forgot to mention :)

what was your exhaust pressure like compaired to intake?

Funny you should mention this....

I have recently done some extensive testing...

boost at turbo compressor outlet versus engine input versus exhaust outlet equals...

24psi vs 22psi vs 25psi = fuck yeah!!!

still havent upgraded my intercooler

Thats awsome. If you are running a gsr throttlebody and not a 60mm evo one you should chuck one on and a set of cams, it would make a huge improvment over the standard cams. These would do job, http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=401100532

Those cams are/ were tempting... but nah... im going to push this motor with the standard cams...

With the 3076 comp core... she pulls to 8500... which is way out of stock cam profile :)

Yeah the throttle body upgrade is a cheap one for sure... when i get around to change it, i will test for any HP improvement..
