Hey guys

I've a mate looking at buying a 1994 RVR (I'm assuming a Sports Gear) but the clutch is in need of replacement.

Can anyone tell me what engine the '94 had? Is it an earlier evo engine?

Thanks Lozzle, and thanks guys for the replies.

I am the friend in need, I am picking this RVR next weekend. I didn't check this thread until last night, and seeing that diagram on how to check the sump, I'll need to do that as soon as I pick it up, so I can find a spare flywheel to be machined up and to swap it out.

Needs a few more pieces and some TLC, but for the price, I definitely can not complain at all. It has done 225k kms, still original TMIC and turbo, and standard exhaust which I am happy with for now.

Thanks
Pete.

g'day Pete, welcome to the forum.

love the RVR's, couple of cheapish ones on gumtree - did you buy one of the ones on there?

Hey, No I didn't, this one is local ( in Bunbury ).

BTW, I was the guy who emailed you unknowingly about the TD04, Craig sent me a message to get in contact with you. I was going to bung a turbo on my sportswagon but it got to hard in the end, needed a special crossmember and other parts.

yeah, i know - you also gave me advice on the emanage blue years ago on silviawa :)

i sold the complete turbo setup to a member on here, so it all went to VIC on monday.

good to see you back in a mitsi

cheers

OK, I picked it up tonight. Has some exterior blemishes to be fixed, and few things to be taken off, but the inside if pretty nice, all the standard seats etc.

Reqs a clutch or a slave cylinder, will get a mate to have a look, but what can i say, for $1900 with 6 months rego, the factory rims in the back, i'm pretty bloody happy.

Exhaust, turbo, and intercooler/intake are all factory standard, and has done 225k.

i just did the slave cylinder up on my gsr gearbox.
seal was $4 and hone tool was $21. new slave was $42 ish. was from perth brake parts in welshpool.
just pop the boot back a bit on the slave to see if it full of brake fluid and crud.
my proton one is the same slave cylinder and it was leaking just as bad with only 90k on clock.

nice ride mate looks good, and welcome too

Thanks Lozzle

Ok, I've just done what that sheet says, and my oil pan bumps out which according to the site means it's the 6 bolt oilpan.

I've already had trouble just trying to find a new radiator cap at Repco, they supplied one but it won't lock onto my radiator which sucks.

Pete.
