Are these version of engine 7 bolts or 6 bolts?
Is the cylinder head from these version like VR4 or evo?

Cheers

I think my 97 Sonata was a 7 bolt... But although it was a 7 bolt the crank was different so I couldn't use it when I did the 4g63 conversion.

Im pretty sure those year models have a 7 bolt crank and that the cylinder head is neither like VR4 or EVO as it has smaller intake ports. Sort of like the smaller intake ports a normal (non Hypergear) RVR engine has.

I've just bought a 95, it's 6 bolt. Haven't taken the head or manifolds off yet
but permaseal gaskets show that they use same inlet and exhaust gaskets
as the vr4

Cheers guys.

I'm basically looking for another option for sourcing a cylinder head for my '95 Chariot/RVR/EVO 1-3 engine.

This is for an engine that I will be building as spare with a go.

have measured the ports inlet 33mm x 53mm, exhaust 31.5mm x 51mm
The gaskets on the in and ex were alot bigger than the port size, I don't know
if this is the same as a vr4 ports. The valves are approx 30mm ex and 34mm in
Hope this helps

Cheers for the info.
Thats alot of help.

Can you please measure the head bolt bolt holes.
It would be good to know the bolt size it uses.

Cheers

The bolts are 12mm diameter across the thread, the holes in the head
vary between 13mm - 14mm
