Hi guys

Got a 95 UF Nimbus 7 seater .... for work and family.
Got my Evo 3 engine sitting in my garage doin nothing.

Will my Evo 3 engine loom plug up to the Nimbus dash loom?
Anyone know for sure?
I assume the Nimbus and RVR dash looms are the same or similar, but if I can avoid swapping everything over, I will.

Who knows what about these?

Take some pics of some connectors like below:

1. ECU plugs
2. Plugs behind dashboard
3. Engine bay, eg. ignitor and injector loom.

I will then compare to mine.

Will do.
What car do you run?

The only main issue will be if the Evo 3 loom marries with the Nimbus dash loom .... as the Evo 3 motor going in will be plugged up to its original Evo 3 loom, ECU, MFI relay etc.
So the injector loom is from the motor going in.

Cheers.

I drive a 1995 turbo charged chariot/nimbus.

Ok, best to check your nimbus dash loom first, see if the plug/socket will fit and plug into evo loom.
95/96 RVR and 95/96 Chariot Turbo have same loom but may not be similar to 95/96/97 Nimbus.
But with some research you can get it work.

Take a picture of evo loom plug for dash loom.
Also picture of dash loom location in your nimbus, this will make it easier for me to locate it in my car.
This so we can compare.

Legend.
Cheers for that.

Would it be easier for me to transplant in an RVR dash loom?

Using an RVR loom would be tidy but will have small issues like below:

1. Timing sensor (depandant on RVR year) are loacated in different place.
2. EVO and RVR have different ECU, RVR loom do not plug-in to EVO ECU

So, Manny, would it be easier to sell my mint Evo 3 engine, loom and ECU .... and get an RVR 4G63t engine, ECU and loom to drop into the Nimbus?

Do not sell your evo 3 engine as it is basically the same if not better than the rvr engine.
It should bolt up perfectly with the right engine mounts.
The same goes for your evo ecu.

Would it be easier to just use the nimbus wiring loom and just mod it to suit ?
I will send you a picture of my engine bay so you can compare it to your nimbus..All necessary may be there already.

Thanks mate, will do.
Any ideas on a rear brake upgrade from the standard drums?
Being the Nimbus, its a FWD with independent rear suspension and I'd like to keep it 4x114.3 stud pattern.
