Be sure to watch A Current Affair tonight after the NEWS on Channel 9/NBN 3 etc as there is a story on Car Hoons again. Why oh why do guys still agree to be filmed and interviewed by the media and providing damning evidence on subjects like this beats me. The media are only going to manipulate it every which way they can to make the car scene look bad - especially with the recent spate of alleged illegal street racing going on  This is gonna open up a can of worms again but this time I wouldnt be surprised that due to recent events in Sydney, tougher laws will be introduced

There's a fine line between enthusiast and hoon. I guess it comes down to the drivers attitude, and having an engineers certificate in the glovebox kinda helps ;)

that dude got owned. what a chump.

if I ever saw that dickhead on the road, i'd take his keys, and stick them up his ass.

That 19 yr old guy they interviewed 'Jonno' something-or-other from Sydney in his white Falcommodore, I'd be thinking he wish he were in hiding right now because there'd be a lot of people unimpressed with how that interview went down. They'd be replaying clips of his interview for every hoon story for the next 10 years now

Watched it last night and couldn't stop
And when he's asked by the reporter
"what's the fastest you've driven on the street?"
and the tool answers "280km/hr...and the car had
a 320km/hr speedo" I lost it

I would have loved to have been interviewed.
(Whilst keeping a straight face)
"Fastest I've been on a public road is 280km/hr
in a Daewoo Matiz".

"Dunno why but I can't help doing donuts in school
zones".

"Hell yeah I've done road-rage. If the old cow didn't
want to get belted she shouldn't have looked at me like
that".

"what's the problem with driving on ice?
It improves your reflexes".

etc. We all know damn well that whatever you say
is going to be twisted, so might as well make it good
for a laugh!

Yeah and heres team4gs own thread full of similarly stupid public statements:
http://4gtuner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2256

Go figure.

I agree as well, I was thinking about that thread earlier today and wondering if it should be removed entirely.

Most people don't specify where they did it. I just made the assumption most of the members had been to a track day..?
