Yep, thats right. Will still run even though the keys is out of the ignition.

I have the feeling its going to burn itself out soon.

Any hints as to whats wrong?

There's no fuse for these things are there? I wouldnt mind just disconnecting it.

Its my '94 RVR

cheers

have you tried the old sharp rap with a hammer handle?this has worked on gsr units before.......have you got a circuit diagram? there maybe a relay somewhere that is stuck.

if you unplug it for a while it might cool off and be ok.....hopeful i know but worth a try.

Mine does that when it gets wet coz the guard liner has worn thru, I un plug it for a few days and then plug it back in once it has dried off and it has good for ages. Otherwise it will just flatten your battery. Big grey plug with two fat wires that feeds it power is the only way I have been able to disconnect it short of the main battery cable.

This happened to me once when i was down the snow:( The old hammer on the side of the pump trick worked for me. The correct way is to remove it, and clean all the crap out of the connectors and also the lines.

There's a relay for it to disconnect power sourse in engine bay next to air box on a gsr so look at that similar fuse box for it!

Thanks for the replies guys- I havent had time to have a good look at it but I managed to stop it by disconnecting the battery. I have done 150km today and it hasn't done it again (yet) so will keep a close eye on it!!!

Slighty off topic, but how can you tell if the pump is running? Does it make noise?

:)

mine does the same thing, i hit a bump hard once under brake and the ABS pump just stayed on. i just unplugged it and clean the connections and it was fine.

but what libero said is probably an easier way and more logical than reaching under the guard and stuff.

is this a common problem?

the pump should make a noise on start up too make sure theres no trouble codes, make sure the pump is running fine, and then the pump turns itself off until it receives messages too say theres a wheel locking up and then it applies pressures too that wheel too make sure it doesnt lock up
