could this cause a hesitation

when I goto accelerate the car has a huge flat spot

mine did have the walbro and serial stamped on it though

That sounds more like a throttle pump issue - have you changed your tb or intake/cooler etc... Still using the stock ecu?

Did you do that after you got it tuned? Who tuned it?

Your throttle pump is either too rich or too lean - need an afr to check it.

You have the cyclone intake - is it still being controlled by the stock ecu...
Or have you disconnected the solenoid...

I did that on mine - removed the solenoid and hooked it straight up to the plenum - so that the cyclone butterflies flicked open just as i hit boost and the extra air leaned it out a bit and it hesitated...

Easy fix remove the diaphragm and wire them open...

I still would check your throttle pump settings though - give it some extra fuel for throttle pump - see if it gets worse or better - give it more to enrich - less to lean it out... And just go by feel if you don't have an AFR meter

my cyclone is conected properly to pin 53 in the vr4 ecu with the solnoid

I wouldnt mind opening them up all the time though

but I was thinking TPS

it was tunned after everything was done on low boost

I have never used an emanage - so i don't know how its set up

is it software on a laptop or a hand controller - if its software send me a copy with a map and i can prolly help you out. Hand controller - you will need to talk to someone who has one/ knows how to use it...

You will know when the throttle pump is set up correctly - because you will get smooth acceleration with no hesitation.

Is this the one you have -

Yes? Get a hold of the program and cable
-see EMANAGE SUPPORT TOOL on the above page...

Buy it if you have to...

Then hook it up to your car with a laptop - have a look for throttle pump...

If you want a hand - send me a copy of the software and a map saved from the emanage unit on your car and i'll have a look - or get knowledgeable friend to give you a hand...

Its not hard - i wouldn't go changing fuel or ignition maps without a wideband though...

PS - perhaps a mod should move this thread somewhere more appropriate... :wink:mad:Dane - thanks :D

yep thats the one blue emanage

I have a Profec e01 hand controller

throttle comes up 0.51v on 0% and 4.95v on 100% on hand controller

Yeah thats not throttle pump - thats your throttle position signal

Throttle pump accounts for the extra air that flows just after you open the throttle but before rpm or boost rises... As the ecu hasn't seen any change in the rpm but there is more air flow... So has to dump a little extra fuel in to account...

where would I find this

like i said man - need to look at the software hey.

have you got it on cd or downloaded from the net. Put it in a zip folder and email it to me

How big is it - i'll give you an ftp address...

Hey travis. You were having simular problems to me ay?

I took my car for a dyno tune the other day, from the arvo thruout most of the night on the dyno tuning it, its now running perfect. The last place it was tuned at to 6psi, and anything over 6psi there was no tuning points input, so basically no tune so it would run either rich or lean etc. My car was also in cold mode all the time.

Anyway hope that helps a little bit or something to think about.

Nathan

Fortunally i took the car for a tune, i was running 8psi. Its now tuned running perfect afr's etc. going great. Im running a wolf 3d.

It was funny though, we put a 13b map on from a 9 second rx3 and it ran the car better than the tune it had!
It was set to 27o at 23psi, 29.7ohms on start up (way too rich!) etc, so the last place it was tuned didnt do the best job.

Going great now tho tuned well.

What engine do you have?? You put a rotor map on it? Well if its running well with safe afr's thats all that counts

Travis,

I've been looking at that excel file - i don't quite follow the values...

GreddyEmanage.jpg

The top section is fuel right... The rpm is x10 i presume and down the lhs is maf % - are the values total fuel or addition to the stock map...

Why have you only changed the low end values...

Same for the second part Ignition - there is even less values there - why have only these points been changed.

Any luck with the software? I could help alot better if i saw the whole map file...

I will try to zip the software for you

its a 4g63

it was safe tunned

its really good on fuel

rotor map????

Yeah as my wolf 3d is a ver 1.5, and the only map he had was on a memory card from that 13b, and my ecu is half dead etc, so put that on just to start it whilst we transfer a blank map. We started from scratch so dont worry im not running a rotor map
