has anyone put an AFM in the pressure side of the intercooler pipes???

what would the effect be on the engine? would there be too much pressure going thru the afm?? :?

just a crazy question!

putting the AFM just before the throttle body has been done, works like it would normaly but will allow you to shove a BOV to Atmo without throwing fuel out the ass every time the BOV goes off......

i'm sure someone on here has done it.......?

it would make more sense to do this right??

it would also give you more induction noise thru the turbo and a louder flutter also cause you would be able to use a pod filter before the turbo!! :D

i am really interested as to what people have done to put the AFM on the pressure side of the turbo!

cheers!

if you use a 2g afm then you can use a pod just need an adaptor which are about $30, i have to move my battery tho, coz my pod is way too big

yeah i have one of dem HKS foam pod filters on my afm.....dont ask.....i got it with the front cut....

but yeah....would the evo/magna AFM be better suited to sit in the pressure side of the turbz? since its actually sealed from one end to the other....as opposed to just being exposed like the VR4 one is??

i reckon this would be pretty awesome to do....coz then you would have a car that runs shitloads better with an ATMO BOV and also would have better throttle response because it senses the air that is being taken in faster than havin it right past the turbo!

this is sounding better and better each post! :p lol!

wouldn't the air/fuel ratios be out, if the afm is after the turbo the afm might not read the right things and send dodgy info to the ecu,

well if you think bout it is possible and has been done before, but to what style AFM there using ........ i would have no idea..... thinking bout it, it would be more accurate in measuring air into the engine,.......

Putting the afm into the upper intercooler line will not work.
They are not designed to have positive pressure forced through them, the member on here tried it and had to change it back if I recall correctly.

If all you want is the nice ricey sound of an atmo bov then go and put a GM maf on it with a translator

A mate of mine breifly mentioned this to me, Is there any more info about this modification? They are just a "hot wire" yeah? no restriction!
was thinking of putting it onto my cc gsr.

the factory AFMs can read pressure up to 1.12bar absolute, so bout 0.12 bar (1.7psi) of boost at sea level.
