Is there a way to get my gsr ( 4g93 ) to sound more like the VL's with the air filer?

i got a intercooler and airfilter?

any suggestions?

got any pics of your setup?

an open air filter will make more noise than a boxed in one

...or are you referring to the flutter noise when u back off the throttle?

I think he means the whole 6 cylinder large turbo car thing.

My suggestion is the following.

1. Get tape recorder
2. Record VL
3. Buy large PA system.
4. Play sound over and over again whilst driving.

Problem solved.

.

Always a smartass where ever you go.

oh well thankx anyway.

Yes i do mean when you back off the throttle though. I dunno but i think it
sounds
sweeeeeetttttt!!!!

That noise is NOT a good noise to have......You can either get that to happen when you run a pod style filter & NO BOV. (VL's Dont have a BOV from Factory)

OR

If you have a BOV it's not set farr too tight so it doesn't vent off early enough.
Not a good thing for your turbo, it's the boosted air getting slamed back onto your compressor wheel of your turbo comming out through your pod.
So that noise is a cool sound....But it might cost you a turbo. (Or blow off intercooler pipes ect..)

AS was said, run a pod, block off the bov and it will "flutter"

probably wont sound like a VL as such, but it will be simlar.

My evo does it, and as soon as I can afford a good plumb back its going on there... It gets annoying, really fast....

another reason the vlt's drop mad coolers is because they have a "dose" pipe instead of a pod filter..its just a metal pipe that sits there and since..but i have to admit after a while you get of the noise..

Sounds like a pure ricer noise. nothing good about it technically or performance wise at all.

Again why bother

Because it sounds cool  it gives no performance gain at all :? and will be good for fools and their money to be parted quickly.

My 2 cents....

The acoustics and inlet design of a "63 or a "93 wont give you the noise of a vl turbo,It just wont happen.
Ways to get it though include....masive cooler piping, massive intercooler, massive inlet pipe with no airflow meter etc....The greater the volume of the inlet section (after the turbo) the bigger "air Spring" you have bouncing back and forth, therefore the noise occurs....a big turbo helps to.
So unless your gonna go 800x500x76 cooler with 3 1/2 piping and a T66,your car probly wont ever sound the same.
