Aircon stalls the car

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

If the vehicle speed signal is cut from the ECU, the car will stall at idle with aircon on. Common on early evos when people remove the speed cut by just cutting/removing the signal wire from the speedo

nope turns out the aircon request signal isnt working, we tried connecting it in the aux 1 port but still no good. think it might be the haltech for some reason, wondering or not to send away to haltech to test. not to sure how much this will cost

Have you tapped the right wire from the factory loom?

Have you probed the factory idle up request with a multimeter to ejsure you are getting a dignal there to the ecu?

Is the ecu set to th correct input type?

I can't recall if it is a +12v or pull to gnd signal that the stock switch provides.

From memory it is +12v.

If this is the case, to test the switch or ecu you can supply 12v to that aux input and see if the haltec can see it. Alternatively use another haltec input option.

I too have this issue but it doesnt stall. The rpms just drop and dont come back up. I've got a stock GSR ecu, I've replaced the throttle body, fiav and the isc so I highly doubt that these three things are faulty.
My very limited mechanical and electrical knowledge/experience assumes something has to force the throttle body to open up a little to compensate the revs when the AC is on. Only thing I can think of is the ISC - that one of the pins need to receive current when the AC is on but that wire thats suppose to be sending that current isnt actually doing so and therefore is an electrical issue...or am I just WAY off the mark here?
Is there anything else I should be looking at?

When you replaced the isc did you test the replacement to check it was good? Its a common failure for one coil to be bad
