hi all,
i was washing my car, and then all of a sudden the car alarm went off.. i never knew it had one :/
i tried driving around but alarm won't shut the hell up, i had to d/c the battery to keep it shut..
question is, where can i find the alarm to remove it? is it a factory alarm?

Depending whether the alarm also has an immobiliser, but chances are probably not if you were able to drive the car around whilst it was still going off, then just cut the siren off, tidy the wiring and electrical tape it. Then one day when you have time get under your dashboard and slowly remove it being mindful of where the wires are spliced into and tidy it up. If its a cheap ass alarm and theres a birds nest mess of wiring under the dash then you might even decide just to leave it there as long as it doesnt effect your indicator function or continues to immobilise the ignition and/or fuel injector system.

Its one of those things to do that we cant really assist you with because there are so many systems out there. If you want to err on the side of caution just take it to an auto eleccy to find out the brand etc to either encode you a remote for it so you can use it properly or get him to remove it altogether.

Never came with factory alarm, what u mean u didnt know it had 1, couldnt u see a siron in the engine bay :p

my suggestion is cut the wires off the siren, trace wires back to the main alarm box, remove the box and all the wiring, rejoin all the factory wiring back together if they have been spliced into the alarm

Lol, nope, never knew i had a siren.. got to look for it now, can i just unplug the module under the steering wheel?

Yep, i had a quick look under, theres a loose box just sitting there with wires.. Ill sus out the alarm horn to see what wires...
This is why i dont buy old 5th cars :/
