Alternator upgrades..

Basically looking to upgrade my Alt as its not putting out enough amps for my liking...

before i start to fabricate an alternator from another car to fit, does anyone know if there is a straight swap alt that is alot bigger then our current 65-85A units??

I got a 90amp unit on my car, rather than the old 75amp unit it had, i just looked it up for an aus spec vr4 and also some year sonatas use the same unit.
I did read previously that Aus spec vr4s came with 90 amp, i got a 90 amp Mitsubishi unit one sitting on the motor i pulled out of a manual Aus spec, so at least some of them did. Also the later model auto j-spec vr4's i read?

Either way you can get a 90 amp if you get them to look up a 90 amp unit for an Aus spec vr4 or a certain year of sonata. I got my aftermarket one from the supplier cooldrive.

If you want bigger the dsm guys are putting Saturn alternators on but requires custom work.

already on the 85-90A one... still sucks..

i have a GTO 110A one lying around.. might try and shove that in soon if i cant find a straight swap unit...

The autos run a 90amp alternator in VR4's apparently. How come you need more amps? You got your car deckout out with linterior disco lights, big stereo and stuff?
