The driver (yes I know he's a professional Australian Drag Racer trained by Victor Bray) and those responsible for organising the event should be bitch slapped in the face with a snapper and should never had run that event - they should know better!!!!
One guy I saw on TV said, 'oh but we have guardrail in the first part of the track' Guardrail is meant to stop side on brushes against it at speeds much less than 150kmh+, there is no way guardrail will stop a near head on impact at those speeds. The rest of the track where the impact actually occured had no protection at all. Honestly, how fuking dumb are those people who decided to run a drag event with no safety barriers and safety mesh/fence... the simple fact is that no one should be there at all, not even if they had concrete jersey kerb barriers!! It's almost as stupid as running a reverse strip drag event at Eastern Creek!!! A big "fuk up" award goes to the guy who signed off on it, and now there are 6 people dead as a result (some of them were just kids)
Sometimes I think common sense goes right out the window for the organisers, and the spectators are as much to blame also for putting themselves in a dangerous position during rally's and events such as this.
