as many of you guys know, i just got my car back from getting the head cleaned and new valve stem seals put in. car blows no more blue smoke, so big thanks to chasers. i thought the dilemma was over, but i was wrong..

When chasers took the head off and looked at my pistons, they noticed piston 2 and 3 looked like they were different heights. They measured it and found out they actually were at different heights. I told them the last time my car spun a big end bearing, AFAS told me it damaged my rod, and that they were going to see if they could 'save' it before replacing it. They never told me if they replaced it or 'saved' it.

To me it sounds like one of my rods (#3), I presume is still bent which is what Chasers told me.

So what do I do? Get someone else to independently measure my rods and then shove it in AFAS's face or take it back to AFAS and let them deal with it. Mind you I don't want my car off the roads for god knows how long. Who would of thought 10 days would change to 4 months.

This shit is getting out of hand now, I just want a car that runs properly for at least a month.

I'd ask for a refund, so you can get it done properly.

I'd also get on the phone to VCAT

enough is enough olly.

agreed! your car has been off the road for too long...

Get chasers to call afas and explain what they found.

See what AFAS will do to rectify the problem.

Thats the most sensible suggestion...

Im also very curious to know how the fuck u bent a forged rod.. thats like yer weird.. cos they rods can handle 200hp each!

Jon

Jon,

Darren told me the rod may have bent and they sent it away to get it checked out, but I did remember him saying something about some sort of damage to my rod.

I really feel for ya Olly hopefully Paul and the team at Chasers can end this bad streak for ya.

Regards
Dave

I think Olly dont want to take it back to AFAS...

Knowing he wont see his car back for another lifetime.

Im sure 2-3 times in returning it is enough?

I called Chasers, I called AFAS.

Should have an outcome for this by the end of today. Fingers crossed.

im not going to get into a shit fight over someone elses car.. but yer 2-3 times returning the car after it was repaired is strange.. the previous owner never had any problems once it was rebuilt.. but thats another story...

im pretty sure i already know what the outcome is without having to speak to anyone.. but thats another story and im not going to blab my opinion on such a sensitive topic.

IMO 1 time having to return it is enough .................

And Jon, I think if you were in Ollys position, having been burnt by the same workshop however many times, I seriously doubt you would be taking your car back there.

yeah im not out to have a shit fight with you over it jon as it doesnt concern either you or me.

but I learnt after the first time.

Having my evo 1 off the road for so long prompted me to sell it cos i got sick n tired of the crap and went n bought an n/a car to get away from modding for awhile.

So i know what Olly is going through and it really sucks.

sounds like a workshop i used to go to (no names mentioned)

got fked over too many times.. i cut my couple thousand $$ loss, and just went to meek instead and all has been well since.

i knew if i kept taking it to the old place and complaining/warranty or whatever, that theyd just do a half assed job anyway which is not want i want for my car... its just not worth it..
