the car has had an anoying whistle in the background of the stereo for as long as i can remember, i put a condenser on the alt and this helped a tiny bit but its still there, i figured the amp power wire was running with the rca lead and causing it from there... pulled the entire inside apart and rerouted the rca's away from the power wire and put it all back together... noise is still there... any sugestions?

Run a new earth.

Clean your earth terminals.

If required, run a full length power wire from the negative on the battery the length of the car and earth the amp directly to that.

It's feedback caused by a bad ground.

I've got the same thing. But have never bothered to fix it.
Have you run your RCA's down different side of the car to your power wire?
Check all your grounding points of your amplifier, and battery, and make sure they are grounded properly and have enough contact. Also remove any paint etc on the earthing points so they come back to bare metal which will give you better contact.

cheers.. will check it out over the weekend :D

rca's were running with the power wire hence the pulling apart and reassebling yesterday.. now down opposite sides of the car... the rcas do run down the drivers side and thus past alot of wiring under the steering column so i thought it may have been that... but i aint doing it again any time soon...

i will emory paper all the earthing points over the weekend and try that

:D

one thing that did cross my mind, it couldnt be from the coils could it? i did notice a minor difference last time i changed the leads

cheers J

Had the same problem but fixed mine

There is a thing from a company called "Stinger" i thinks its called a "ground loop" plugs into your RCA's...fixed my problem straight away..i'll get a pic on Monday or ring your local car audio installer if he knows his **** he'll know this is the thing to fix it.:thumbsup:

http://www.stingeraustralia.com.au/dealers.php <-- Dealers Aus wide.

From memory i think its about $60 to buy

^^ x2 for stinger
have also been told **** rca's pick up altenator interference, dunno how much truth is in it cos they were pushin for me to buy sumthin,

Stinger have both ****, and top end stuff.
Make sure you get some good quality stinger's.
The Ground Loop Noise Filter may or may not work either, it will only work if this is the reason for your interference.

yea didnt say "stinger rca's" were ****, considering all of my wiring kits an terminals are stinger would be kinda dumb to bag them, 100% agree stinger is pretty good, didnt kno they make cheap **** but id imagine its still better than ya average no name brand

just saying ****/cheap rca's could be it
