I got a quick question.

I work at the airport and we have a staff carpark which we have to pay for. You can pay monthly (which is cheaper if you work full time/part time) or just as you leave which I do cos I'm only casual.

Can I claim that back on tax as anything, cos I've been keeping the receipts just incase?..[/quote]

My Missus says no, her work mate who is an accountant also cant even claim his. It is a part of your normal trip from home to work which nobody can claim

i asked my gf this the other day (she is an accountant). The only time you can claim parking, is if your studying (ie doing night courses at tafe) or your employer sends you to a seminar in which you have to pay for parking.

ya im an accountant,
the only parking you can claim is if you are using your car for work purposes to travel to and from places and need to pay for the parking when you are at that place...etc
but the parking at your place of work is a personal expense. so unfortunately olly you can't claim it... "legally" anyways

tax is gay
its gay, but u gotta know how to play
