If worried about transport inspection.......it will be the quality of the weld they are concerned with.....not the qualifications of the person doing it.

they may ask for an xray to assess weld quality...probably not tho as if it looks good and strong they wont give a shit

yeah i know it the weld quality that will be under scrutiny but i'm thinking they'll be less inclined to want to look further. if the person has proper qualifications.

its only spot welds, are you changing boot floor as well?

just lap the panels and mig the spot welds it. there is a few utube vids about replacing floors, the same applies here.
you will buy a mig cheaper than a welder will charge. just practice on a spare bit of panel. wont be too hard, predrill the weldholes in the panel, teck screw it into position then fill the predrilled holes with weld
