Anybody actually fit a Walbro 400Lph intank fuel pump yet?

I think there is still a long way to go with E85 and so called stories online. Fuel pumps have come so far in the last few years however some have problems some don't.
 
I have a mirage.
I cut about 10mm of the pump outlet to reduce the overall height.
I also shaved down the bottom bracket slightly and elongated the mounting hole to also allow for the extra height. Sits exactly the same depth as the stock pump.

I think I'll be installing the Walbro 400 in after Xmas now when I upgrade the alloy hard line from the tank.
 
All good in that department. For the past couple of years Ive already been running 8 gauge power cable direct from the battery in the boot to a switchable 60A circuit breaker (so I can switch off power to the fuel pump and it covers 2 x fuel pump installs if required later). From the circuit breaker the power runs to a 30A fused relay then a short length of 8g from the relay to the pump. Im using the tiny oem power wire as the trigger for the relay ;) The fuel pump gets 12v+ easy... much better than the oem 7-10 volts under load. Something else I was planning on doing was upgrading my alternator from the 75A to a 90A unit for safe measure. That's on the cards for over Xmas too if I can find one. Seen a few brand newy's in the U.S. market for DSM's and Hyundais but havent invested much time and effort in chasing one down yet lol.

id rather the teflon hoses, safer in the long run, thats my opinion but others may have a diffrent opinion :)

Bull shit. I've done 5 now and run steel lines and normal off the shelf ethanol safe fuel hose. All the fuel flex factory cars run it no problems too.
 
most cars built in the 90's have teflon inthe rubber compound that makes up the lines. all post 90's mitsi's are ethanol compatible (atleast at e10 levels

All good just don't go round saying Teflon hoses are a must.

They are OK for e10 but questionable for e85. What you want is SAEJ30R9 which is what all the fuel flex cars are running from factory, same price as normal efi hose just harder to find. I use the dayco stuff. Steel fuel lines are fine too (fuel tank is also steel so go figure).
