Compared to alot of the other cars I have been driving (hydraulic and cable), the VR4 seems to have about 1ft of movement, from top to bottom.

Is this a normal characteristic for a Galant?

Also I had a PBR "stock" clutch plate put in when I had my front diff fixed, I now want to go to the track and run some 1/4 times.

I know the PBR plate aint going to be upto the task as traffic light launchs usually end up in the clutch slipping :fuuuuu:.

I don't want the rattle associated with the non-dampened plates but want alot of grab, not a button.

Thinking of going cushioned-button or heavy duty.

Power is in the vacinity of 140-180kw when done.

Mine has a long throw on it too. Old clutch (RPM or something) had it, very soft, and the new clutch (Exedy HD) also has it. Feels weird when I get in a car now that has a short throw, feels wrong.

Where does it bite when in gear and slowly raising the foot from the floor? If it bites to far up then you have too clutch pedal free play. You can adjust it in my cracking the 10/12mm nut on the clutch master rod that goes to the back of the clutch pedal and turning the push rod.

it is reasonably long i suppose. I've grown accustomed to it and drive 2 misti's now so I guess I don't notice it =P

I was going to get an Xtreme HD full-face kit and have the pressure plate adjusted to hold 2400lb. Instead found a local place that replaced the material on my friction plate and brought the pressure plate up to 2400lb as well as giving a light pedal feel. Works an absolute treat.

Have heard since before I even got my car the standard clutches are a waste of time...

If you want to go something heavier than a full-face, try a 5 or 6 puk clutch. More you have the easier it is to drive. Less you have the more it grips like a mofo straight up.

FYI: My car is running stock turbo with j-spec IC, large TB elbow, stock inj., chipped ECU, visc. rear, stock boost and only problem launching is my 5k (stage 1) stutterbox isn't enough to stop it from bogging down =P (no clutch slip)
