Anyone has 17"x7.5 wheels with 205/45 tyres?

Help Support 4GTuner:

OEM GSR load rating on tyres is 85.
OEM EVO I-III load rating is 87 or higher.
You will find it difficult to get a 205x17 tyre with a load rating of 85 or higher, but there is a shit load more choice in the 215 sizes.
The 215 tyre sits better in the guards between 38 to 42 offset but you may have to do the rear bar tab mod (bend the tab up) to give you extra clearance.
so true. the only tyre available in 205 40 r17 with 85 load rating of 85 is the maxis mav1. not sticky at all good in wet good tread wear and noisy. definitely go 215. 87 is the average load rating for this size

To prove compliance you dont need the speedo calibrated if you fall within the +/- 15mm ruling. The rules make allowance for various wheel/tyre combos up to this amount. Read the NCOP for light vehicle mods, its written in the wheel/tyre section.

Yep, what EVO-00X said! He knows it all...

If you don't bend the tabs (linky) and

You try fit 205/45/17 it WILL rub (doh)
You try fit 215/40/17 it WILL rub

I just stuck with 205/40/17 and don't worry about the rating, wasn't worth melting/bending tabs.

You're prob better off with 215/40/17 as they are not as tall and are closer to the original wheel/tyre size in comparison and have a better footprint for grip. If you want a 205 size then i'd also drop to a 40 over the 45 as thats even closer to the stock size and it fits better...

Check it from this link:

Original GSR Size is 195/60/14 5.5J +38 offset ;)

Cool
So I've just brought a set of Enkei Tarmacs.

I've got a 93 GSR

What is the best tyre size? 215/40/17? 225/35/17 is also the same rolling diameter from what one Calculator said, but worry about the real low profile

FYI

I had to buy 2 new front tyres (215/40/17) because the sidewalls got sliced up after some pretty hard cornering. The slicing happened in the 2nd part of last year (I have stock GSR guards), then a few days after that I got the arches rolled. But the slices on the sidewall got worse so had to change them. Too scared to corner it as hard as before, dont want to risk slicing it again - Bridgestone Adrenalin RE0003s aren't cheap! LOL

Just my 2 cents
