4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

there are wheels out there dont get me wrong, but anything half decent that i actually like theres not.

new tyres will cost around 550 for current 15" wheels which will be a waste in my eyes. id like some stance and a good fitment, these current wheels dont cut it.

Besides, twin pots for the front is a win.

each to own i guess. some will be happy with steelies, and some will be happy with nicelly stanced wheels.

good info in the thread, but:

THIS!
you seem to be going to an awfull lot of trouble for the sole reason of being able to get new wheels/tyres.
why don't you just put some better tyres on your current wheels?
or
get some wheels that already fit. if you can't find any, then you're probably not really looking. I've got about 3 sets laying around in the shed lol!

not trying to hang shit on you or anything, as there is probably a few good reasons to do it. just seems a bit over the top if the main reason you are doing it is bald tyres.....

That's the only reason I changed mine..
I had rims in multifit 5 stud. So I redrilled rears from 4x100 to 5 and made fronts 5x114.
It's the reason I'm going to use falcon rear diff is because theyre 5x114 (and disc)
Even worse, I changed to Subaru studs so the wheel nuts would fit. Lol.

Those disc I mentioned maybe no good as you have handbrake drum inside rear disc, not sure if Mazda do.

Jack...its only the later model Evos that have the handbrake drums inside the disc...Not GSR or early Evos ??
Cheers for that one, thanks to you I have learnt something today, I only thought about it earlier at work.
As you know I have drum brake rears and they are about the size of a can of boot polish (with peugeot slave cylinders ?!?)

That's ok mate..just wanted to clear up any confusion.
You only need to worry about that if you were doing a Brembo rear brake conversion to a GSR or Evo 1,2 or 3 as the Brembo setup runs the handbrake drum inside the disc, as found on Evo 4 and upwards.
