anyone running a microtech as a piggyback

i had a aem wideband in my evo6 & have a reasonable knowlege of afr's etc but not having a proper knock box is the sealer for me not tuning my own car.

thats another reason why you should stick to standard ecu + ecmlink you can monitor your standard knock sensor

factory knock sensors are not that reliable (ever heard of 4g lifters settting them off, or other noises/vibrations), so i will leave the knock sensing to the experts with the correct equipment - a knock box, and let them build a safety margin into the tune.

fair enough and yes I've heard of the above but really its usually 'coz people often overlook knock sensors and want to rely on a almost 20 year old unit. Same stands for the lifters, replace them by a brand new set of third gen lifters and you no longer will have that problem
