Thanks.

Red books are only for caryards to make good cash on trade in's or buy prices.

The market + condition dominates what prices are paid not the Red book.

Do you want to buy a 6g gsr ??

I'm tired of seeing people ask for 15k for a stock GSR and I'm tired of people thinking that mods add value to a car.

I reckon that red book is a croc of shit anyway.

At the end of the day, it depends what people are willing to pay.

And I can easily say I would be more than willing to pay more than 15k for a stock GSR that had genuinely low kms (<60thou for example), and was in pristine condition.

Same goes for modified ones, provided the mods a tasteful and relevant to your application, why not pay a bit more for car that has already had money spent on things you are likely to add later on anyway?

thats how i look at it anyway :p

Your trying to tell me a good cond. GSR with 17's, coil overs, exhaust, cooler, Recaros etc is worth the same amount as a car in same condition un modified?

You don't own a GSR, your not buying a GSR so why do/should you have a say in what people ask for their cars?
It is a pointless thread/post. A car is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

Yes

As long as there's not a lot of GSR's for sale at the same time, hence competing for your business and trying to undercut eachother's prices, then the price of GSR's will always stay above $10,000 modified or not (unless they're in extremely poor condition). I reckon the price should be more like $15,000 + for a stocker in good condition and modified examples should go up from there depending on what has been done to them. Stock EVO4's will never be as popular as decent modified GSR's so they should be fetching around the same price IMO.

Red book is also a great way for banks/insurance companies to refuse customers... it took a lot to convince the bank to give me 10 for a VR4, when they said it was worth less than 6k.. I told them if they could find me one for that price (at the time) I'd buy it...

Red book doesn't consider "performance" car values, eg :

Red Book Code NISS86AW
1986 NISSAN 300ZX

Z31 S2 Turbo Coupe 2dr Man 5sp 3.0T
National average price - private sale* $1,600 - $3,600
Price when new (RRP) $47,720

I'd love a z31 turbo for a beater.. if I could get one for 3k :D

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, it doesn't consider what people are willing to pay for a car that is easily modified, perfect example are VR4's, they still sell for well over 8k, even though they're 15-17 years old... Guy at my work got a VX with 40,000 kays on it last year for 11k at a dealer... and he thought he got a raw deal...

Same conversation is being had on the FTO forums ... Used car prices on red book are a joke ... Everyone knows it ...

LoL

Richy rich shoudlnt be sooking over 15k then if he gets a lazy 100,000,000 on his tax now should he.

I sold mine for just under 15k - it was modified, but only tastefully, and performance wise was stock.

so your like afew people that would pay an extra 5k cos it has a yellow plate and a CE9A chassis nunmber?

sure ill just untack my EVO 3 CE9a firewall i have on my wreck...

ill weld it onto my gsr.. and ask for 25k ?
