remember
this is just my opinion

i think things like wheels, suspension would add value
but a respray and an engine rebuild doesn't add value

but i do want to buy this car
http://4gtuner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7322

that car has a stock motor so with a 35R lets just say it wont last too long.. i know at the moment its running fairly low boost..

i think a spray and engine does add value because the engine makes the car more realiable.. and the paint job makes it look alot more presentable... (THIS IS WHAT A CAR MAG LOOKS FOR IN A CAR TO FEATURE!!!!)

oh.. my car is going to be in a car mag soon.. should that up the price by another 5k? ROFL

i guess if you're just going to sell it to some 18 year old ricer

some shiny wheels and a new respray will help gloss over some other shitty features of the car

WHERE IN THAT SENTENCE WAS ANY OF THAT DIRECTED TOWARDS YOU OR YOUR CAR.

if you werent referring to me selling my car to an 18 year old and then referring to my paint job covering the imperfections of my car what where you saying? the first sentence was directed at me so i took the second sentence too!!!

or were you generalising? huh

Jon

I would pay the extra for the CE9A on the firewall

you can insure at $20,000 no probs because of this number

pft insurance, who can afford that anyway!? I would rather pay less for the car, pay less for insurance and then spend the difference making it better. I payed $13500 for my GSR stock 3-4 years ago, I would think since mine was cheap at the time as most were going for $15-17000 that a stock GSR today should be worth 12-14000. The red book only works one way, I kno a car sales man that stirs up dickheads when they quote the red book value of a car as being much less than they are selling it for buy simply saying "well go and buy one from the red book, I'm sure they have plenty forsale!"

I recently bought a modded GSR and when getitng insurance, the company said their market value was 10,800, I quoted on a 94 model. I've insured it for 15. I am 30 years old and it makes a massive differene on quotes.

ffs grow up...
a car is worth what the eye of the beholder believes it is worth...
those who like nice spray jobs value the car more
those who dont wont add any value to it...
its not rocket surgery...
clearly the real problem around here is that some people dont accept other ppls opinion....

 You guys crack me up. The car is worth whatever price someone wants to pay for it. If the buyer doesnt do their homework and pays too much for it (in other people's opinions) then so be it, stiff sh!t. As long as a seller is openly honest about the mechanical and safety condition of the car and doesnt hide or conceal any truths about the problems with the car then all is good in the hood imo. Be a relatively honest seller, and you wont end up with pissed off people hunting you down afterwards  I bought a car which the owner lied to me about a few things and when I got the car home and found out about them the next day I was about to head back over and beat the shit outta someone. My phone call was enough to scare the shit outta them that they refunded me $800 off the price immediately because I wouldnt have paid as much for it if I had known about the probs :) I fixed the problems myself for free anyway so the $800 went toward rego and other stuff
