Remember there is always a conversion cost, which accounts for the difference. Usually around 2.5% on credit cards, so pay pal isn't a bad rate

If you do a dummy transaction, don't follow through, it will conver the currency.

Don't you have to commit to buy before you see the exchange rate i just tried it.

I did some searching and one page of info claimed that the different in pay pals cut off the official exchange rate updated 3 times a day and it was 1-6% difference.
Ive also read that its a flat 3%.

Anyone know for sure?
Not that its a massive difference but its more out of interst as no one ive talked to seems to know for sure.
And.... buying coilovers soon so if it does vary a bit buying it at the right time would be like getting a free carton of beers to celebrate.

Unless your willing to dump a heap into USD, the spread will kill you. Plus the US isn't likely to be lifting rates anytime soon, so probably be waiting a while for your payday.

there is a setting in paypal where u can let the conversion be handled by your credit card / bank
i use it and the rate is always better for me than the paypal rate.

Care to elaborate how to do this for those of us who are 'tards?

And you really have to expect paypal to take a cut, it costs you to change money whichever way you do it. Even over seas using your card you get less than the exchange rate plus charged each time you get cash out. Money changing places take a big cut to.
