Who thinks they should change the format of the Salon??? If not do it as something else, like Nationals etc........! but i feel we have a lot to learn from the Kiwi's, there turn outs and shows look sick as apposed to ours!! Reckon it should be mandatory that they have a drag day as part of the shows. i.e SAT, SUN = show and MON = track. Some1 must do something!!!!!!!

i agree with you that 99% of the cars at autosalon are complete trash
but you have to realise that some people want different thigns
some people build show cars, some people build track cars, some people build cars that go fast in a straight line
everyone wants something different
its hard to cater for each and every individual thing, thats why you go to the drags if you like drag cars, or you go to track events if you like track cars, or you go to a car show if you like show cars

Paint.......Big Wheels and sciccior doors. Maybe some neon
AS does have a few nice tough car look classy and have the Ball5 to back it but majority is just body kits and big wheels that push 65kw
Look at Jap (tokyo AS) SEMA - or the extreme and best car show The Riddler in the states
Thats a show car.......Not a make up doll that you throw a few things on there to make it look pretty and win driver with attitude awards cause ur ass end scraps or u got 7,000 defects cause it way to low and loud...

In NZ, the largest importer of JDM cars per capita in the world you have the resources there to have JDM cars everywhere, but still, there's no U.S styled cars- well maybe 1 or 2.
There's alot to learn over here in Aus about JDM automotive style! The results in NZ speak for themselves. 2nd fastest GTR in the world, fastest EVO's etc. Where are all the drag cars at these shows? It seems like the show scene and the drag scene are independant of themselves, where in NZ they are integrated. Like what MADEVO said, perhaps it should be changed........
everyones definition of what a car is to car is different. But POOR build quality is NOT mistakeable. stuff like the orange laser that had a round headlighted grille on a square headlighted car! Or the countless numbers of lambo door coversions that had no paint where the original hinges were! Shit like that just shouldn't be publicised as being a nice car because all it does is bring the whole scene down! I remember back when it was at the old exhibition buildings, now there was a show...it had a fair number of cars all built rather well and dyno runs that weren't 4 hours apart!
Well we had a stand - Team Booyar - which was right next to the Dyno. Depends what you go there for I guess. Being from interstate, we got a free site at the Austosalon, so there is 2 free nights secured parking. We have made the pilgrimage from NSW for the last 5 years. All in all it just a chance to get out of NSW, get our car club some free publicity and there were some impressive cars on the Dyno too. 420kw out of an SR20DET with an auto gearbox!!!
It was good to catch up with Dre (Clutz) and Dave (offon-4) too. First guys from the club I've actually met!!

Yeah, i don't know what it is, but ever since i got my car i haven't really been impressed with Autosalon???? i don't know why but it just seems to be like a nightclub for vl's???? i mean there just needs to be more to it??? i don't know maybe Team4G should organise a day for the Summer (just for u dre ) to have a show and drag day!!!!
