Has anyone fitted/used an autronic aftermarket ECU? Can all the models still run the aircon? I'm in brisbane, so a good distributor and tuner would be good know for future plans. Thanks

i dont see why you would lose air con. as far as i knew the climate control has its own independent computer. dont quote me on that though

The effect Aircon has on an ecu / engine is when it turns on. When you activate the aircon, it takes up load off the motor, therefor you need to wire the aircon to the ecu (just a switch), this allows the idle rpm to increase to compensate for the additional load.

All Autronics can do this, most aftermarket ECU's will have this feature. As for the VR4's climate control, it is independant from the ECU.

If you want a patch loom, KAOTIK is running one made from Springy Motors. Plug and play on VR4. This can be done for any car.

I'm running an AUTRONIC SM4. But I dont have Aircon. Great ECU's.

sorry to hijack, but based on the above info, i assume this is the same with the gsr and evo ecu's?
do you know what exact wire from the AC needs to go to which pin on the gsr ECU? otherwise off to a sparky

hey mate if youre worried about your air con running, i can sell you a gsr ECU which has a bay/chip in it

Could always let the standard computer control it.
