After replacing the dodgy modified vr4 passenger mount with a new Evo one I am now getting some bad axle hop when taking off from standstill.(only heavy take-off's)I still have standard roll stoppers.(poly's are the next mod)Do you think cause I have a bit more usable HP that I have now exceeded the standard shocks capability's?(Only Delco's)Any other idea's guys?

How low is your car?

i have SL kings.i think they're a bit low maybe.looks like im driving down hill.matching springs on the back.but kinda don't match if you know what I mean.they were bought as a set and I believe there is not another combo.cant afford coil overs as yet any suggestions.

Check the angle of the driveshafts. Mitsubishis are not designed to run with negative angles from the wheel to the gearbox as measured from the outside in.

AKA | \ - - / |

The driveshaft should slope a little down from the inner cv to the outer cv. If it's level or slopes up, your car is too low.

ok the shaft slightly point upward from the inner cv to the outer cv.the lowest point is the cross member at about 90mm from the ground.mmmm i think 100mm is the legal limit.correct? which is really irrelevant if the shafts are angled wrong from what you say. What springs would you recommend for a mid range budget.

Low's, rather than superlows.

If you really want control, you can get a set of BC Coilovers off ebay for $1250 delivered. I have them in mine and I am really impressed.

maybe the shocks are abit stuffd?? had a similiar problem in an old car of mine put new/2nd hand struts in an it was fine,

For a quick fix, just dial in a heap of camber. you'll have no traction but you won't have axle hop either.
Seriously, good shocks will help it. So will reducing the amount of anti-dive in the car but that's not so easy to do.

I think they are ***** and I wouldn't even use them for wheel chocks, but if it is just for drags, then they will do the job...just.

The g4's that I played with, the adjustments only worked in rebound, not in bump. Koni's I think are the other way around (mainly adjust bump, not rebound). Hotbits, Bilstein, DMS, MCA etc adjust both at the same time, ideally that is the sort of shock you want so you can fine tune the shock to help minimise the tramp.

the car is a daily drive with the occasional 200m squirt from the lights.I do plan to do some 1/4's in the future.
