Hey guys,
I need a bit of help with an issue ive had for a few weeks now.

After changing all rotors and pads, started the car up on stands and notice a wobble on front left wheel, and half of the rotor is rubbing on the pad.
Took everything off and find that the wheel hub itself has the wobble.

Decided to let someone else deal with it, and they came back saying it was just the brake cover rubbing on something.
Still not sold on their response, i got them to have another look, and the rack end was bent, then replaced.

It was all good for a few days (minimal driving) but now when going slow you can still hear scraping/wobble (same at any speed, just cant hear it well), and when braking its really obvious and sounds like the wheel wants to fall off.

Oh ,and there is no play in the bearing when trying to move the wheel around.

Before i go spending more on anything, has anyone had some similar problem before, or got any pointers of what i should be checking.

And no, ive not hit any gutters or had any form of impact, so im still not sure how the rack end was bent.

Thanks dudes.

Yes. I have a bent hub on the bench. It makes the caliper touch some spokes on the rim and not others.
Just do the same, measure from the rim to a body part and spin rim, measure at a few spots and compare.

Discs have their own run out, this pushes pads back off the calipers

I believe i have some gsr ones here with new bearings, yours for free if you come pick em up =)

I believe they are gsr, however they may be vr4

Thanks guys, I might have to take either of your offers up.
Jack, out of curiosity how did you end up with a bent hub? Mines definitely as far down as the hub, had a dial indicator on it and it's definitely warped or out of whack.
Could anything else be the cause? Cv shaft or something else bent?

Also apologies for the naivety but are Gsr and Evo hubs/bearings the same? I have Evo brakes on the car.

Yep, same hubs. Also on 4 stud early magnas.

Not really. As long as the cv nut is tight there is nothing else it could be. Worn bearing wont be out of round, they will be loose.
Good you have a dial indicator. Im sure you measured at the hub, not at the disc. Im never sure what tools people have access too.

Mine was bent from ages ago. It was a gsr that I got my engine and loom out of. It was tboned on the drivers front wheel. It smashed the rim off the hub leaving a little bit of rim bolted to the hub. It also drove the engine off its mounts and into the passenger side chassis rail

And here is the picture...

Yup, dial indicator right on the hub, one half of the hub comes out quite a bit.
Thanks for clarifying it's the hub Jack, hopefully I can get it sorted ASAP and stop destroying my new rotor.

If i was after brand new hubs Is there a good aftermarket option or will ebay suffice ?

If te hub is damaged id look into replacing the whole knuckle never know the brake caliper mount could also be outa whack

Not actually a bad idea. My ute jumped a curb sideways (some other idiot driving) and wrecked 4 rims. It didnt bend the hubs but did bend the part of the knuckle that the strut bolts to on one knuckle

Picking up some hubs and bearings tomorrow, hoping I don't need to replace anything else as I'm trying to save for 5 stud conversion. Irony. :(

Nice to meet you Rory, hope the hubs solve the problem. If not i have some rotors and calipers that may suit aswell

Thanks again Bryce. Was great to meet you also.
I will be pulling the old hub tonight and hopefully fix my issue.
Will let you guys know how I get on.
