I remember talking about this on the clubvr4.org forum (the one with the fags ) ages ago..

I'm looking at exhausts for my 7, and was just wondering what cats are the go.. I've read somewhere that there are some real quality cats around that came standard in a lot of cars.

That said, I'd really like to run a straight through system, just want to have something there to fool the cops. What would flow better, a good quality high flowing cat, or a gutted stocker?

Good quality high flow cat will both work and outflow a gutted one.

IE: Metalcat.

dude get a magna flow high flow cat dude i reckon ther the best for your $$$$$$.

Magnaflow are pretty good and have good feedback, I've got one ready to go onto my car too. They are made in the USA so beware of any cheap copies. I wouldnt gut a cat for the sake of some extra hp as if you are pulled over and have an epa inpsection carried out/they find out its a $10,000 fine from memory, plus you're poisoning the already polluted air :lol:

yeah thats what i've been thinking but i'm just trying to consider the options

we don't really have the EPA issues here in Adelaide like you guys do which is good..

I just can't believe how much some of these cats are worth :?

I hear a gtr skyline cat has 3 inch inlet and outlets...gutted it might flow pretty good. Not that i know or anything........
